Abstract

This paper describes a novel optimized high phase-ratio micropillar design for on-chip liquid chromatography. The completely porous pillars with a hexagonal design show an increased mechanical stability compared to previous circular designs, and are stable up to 40 bars hydraulic pressure. Flow distributors are integrated to allow low dead volume connections to external detectors and injectors.
