Abstract
Holography enables true three dimensional imaging, however zero-order image and conjugate image that are inherent in the hologram recording and reconstruction process degrades the quality of the object image. This paper starts with brief description of the hologram recording and reconstruction process. After explanation of the filtering concept in holography, various filtering techniques that are present in the literature are summarized and supported with simulation results. Then a Hilbert transform based filtering technique is proposed. Performance of the proposed method is evaluated using Mean Squared Error (MSE) analysis and a notable improvement in the signal to noise ratio is observed.
