Abstract

With the arrival of the Information Society, which is getting great political support, computer science has to wonder whether the research efforts are focused on the right topics. Activities such as World-Wide Web are leading us the way to the “Information Superhighway”. As a database community we have to ask ourselves what can we contribute to this field. By discussing various issues of finding relevant data on the Internet, Internet-related database research topics are identified.
