Abstract

Large Eddy Simulation (LES) introduces a low-pass filtration of the Navier-Stokes equations distinguishing large resolved scales from small subfilter scales. Large scales are approximated by the solution of the filtered equations in which the influence of the small scales is introduced as a model for the subfilter stresses.
