    Abstract

    Building a computational model of the early engineering design phases is a necessary condition to develop automated support for the entire process of computeraided design. Over the last few years, many research efforts have been concentrated in this area but mostly limited to modeling reasoning process about conceptual design within a single engineering domain. However, as follows from a nature of the innovative design one of its main characteristics is the use of knowledge unknown in the domain a priori.
