    Abstract

The context of the study, described in this dissertation, is The College of Basic Education in the State of Kuwait. The study was inspired by the special problems faced by the teacher-training program. These problems concern the production of instructional materials and choice of a medium that the students of the teacher-training program cannot easily solve. The study was carried out in cooperation with the students of The College.
The goal of the study is to understand the problems that the students have with the production of instructional materials and to find ways to improve the knowledge and skills of future teachers.
In the research project, a survey was first administered to find out the problems faced by the students. Then, two experiments were carried out in which the effects of the use of an instructional-design theory and model as a general framework for the production of instructional materials were studied.
