Abstract

Calculation of traction in EHL contacts is often based on measured traction curves to determine missing parameters for rheological models. These paramters thus inherently incorporate effects of the model setup. We investigate the influence of experiment on the resulting friction curves and derived parameters and highlight the physical causes.
