Abstract

In the current study we perform LES of the jets issuing from the triangular nozzles with various aspect ratios (ARs) and various end sections, i.e., smooth transition, straight pipe, short contracting and orifice plate. It is shown that increasing the AR of a nozzle speeds-up the decay of the axial velocity and increases the growth of its fluctuations in the near-field. However, the impact of the AR on the jet behaviour strongly depends on the type of the exit nozzle section.
