    Abstract

In this study, failure mechanisms in transversely loaded unidirectional composites have been investigated under long-term loading. Plasticity-controlled failure was shown to play a role in transverse long-term behavior of thermoplastic composites. Determination of failure mechanisms will be used to develop lifetime prediction methods.
