    Abstract

    Due to their low pump power requirement, Er:Y2O3 IO-amplifiers are especially
    suited for loss compensation in complex IO-circuits used in telecommunication
    systems. Experimental results presented show a net gain at 1536nm of 5.7dB at
    only lOdBm launched pump power.
