Abstract

A two step burr-free blanking process is investigated, where the deformation due to the preceding deepdrawing process is taken into account. FEM simulations have been carried out using a nonlocal damage model to obtain mesh independent results. It is shown how the parameters of the damage model influence the failure in the blanking process. Furthermore the simulations are validated with the measured contour and hardness of the part in different stages of the process.
