Abstract

Wet hydrogel suspensions have been used as a 3D bioprinting support bath in order to bypass the challenges emerging from non-optimal rheological properties of bioinks. The materials used as suspensions, were usually chosen based on their ability to behave as low yield stress fluids, in order to achieve high quality printing within them. However hydrogel suspensions consissting of hydrogel microparticles, are a class of metamaterials on their own accord, and thus can offer a wide variety of options for tissue engineering.
