Abstract

Olivine holds great potential for carbon mineralization technologies, as its weathering naturally sequesters CO2, forming stable carbonates as one of the reaction products. However, the factors controlling reaction kinetics, along with the relationship between surface evolution, dissolution rate, and chemical environment, are not fully understood yet. To address this, we are investigating a range of dissolution conditions through both ex-situ and in-situ experiments, employing a wide array of reactive fluids, parameters and characterization techniques.
