Abstract
This article reports on the experience of implementing the Pomar Urbanoproject in the classroom context, integrating graphic design and sustainability. Developed by researchers from various fields and higher education institutions, the Pomar Urbano project aims to map, monitor, and promote the biodiversity of fruit-bearing plants in Brazilian urban areas, encouraging community participation through citizen science. Students were challenged to create a visual identity, a press kit, and five editorial products for the project, in addition to planning and executing an urban intervention. The experience allowed for the application of theoretical knowledge in practical situations and demonstrated the importance of graphic design in environmental communication and the promotion of ecological practices. This initiative highlighted the benefits of the relationship between graphic design and biodiversity, reinforcing the connection between the community and the environment.
