On Approximate Observability of Strongly Stable Systems

    Abstract

    The Hautus test of Russelll and Weiss is sufficient for approximately observability when the system is exponentially stable. By means of an example we show that this does not hold when the system is trongly stable, even when the semigroup is a contraction.
