Abstract
The problem of determination of the position of the extremum of a continuous correlator function from its samples, if the spectrum of the correlator is not bandlimited, is discussed. Searching for the position of the extremum by fitting a parabola through three samples around that extremum leads to clustering of the estimates around values corresponding with the sampling moments
