Abstract

Education in the 21st century must constantly adapt to new situations. New technologies, new legislations, shrinking budgets and increasing commitment of parents affect the current educational structure. Schools at all levels try to make a virtue instead of this problem. They try to seek opportunities, more and more found through collaboration. We propose that networks of educational professionals and stakeholders with common interests and intentions can complement each other in the development of new or improved didactics and teaching methods. In this article we describe this phenomenon by means of examples and identify, classify and analyse the characteristics that determine the development of these open educational resources. These characteristics form the basis for labelling online co-creation patterns for education in the 21st century
