Relevance of the findings for educational policy and future research

In this concluding chapter the results are summarized and discussed with respect to their policy relevance. For this last topic current educational policy in the Netherlands is used as an exemplary case. Among others the results presented in this study would call for cost-effectiveness analyses of extended learning time programs, such as the “broad schools” in the Netherlands. Suggestions for future research are offered in the final section.
