Abstract
When presenting remotely sensed information, possibly combined with additional geographic information, one should take into account cartographic production rules, in order to convey the intention of the map maker correctly to the map user. Actually, the raw remote sensing data should be processed and integrated in a cartographic message which only allows the correct explanation and excludes misinterpretations. The method applied by the cartography section of Utrecht University shows that there is a solution for almost any form of integration of remote sensing information in a cartographic message, map images, visual integrations and analytical integrations. -from English summary
