Abstract

The current wave of technological innovation, known as the “Digital Revolution”, has have given a new boost to artificial intelligence (AI) applications. While the disruptive potential of AI and big data is receiving growing attention, as well as concern, across a variety of research and application fields, including economics, economic policy, innovation, and management, it has not received that much scrutiny in entrepreneurship research so far. Hence, the aim of this chapter is to introduce the reader to the potential of current AI methods and big data for both the practice and study of entrepreneurial activity, while also highlighting questions and challenges related to the use of these methods.
