Abstract
The research in this thesis concerns the study of the spin and orbital Hall effect in transition metals. I aim to answer some very specific questions that can essentially only be answered with the particular method we use. To get some perspective on why these questions are interesting in the first place, I will provide some background first, before introducing the theory that underlies the physics.
