Simulation of a connectionless server for B-ISDN

    Research output: Book/ReportReportAcademic

    Abstract

A connectionless service can be provided with the B-ISDN by installing Connectionless Servers (CLSs) in the network. A CLS can either operate in message mode, routing and forwarding cells on a per-packet basis, or in streaming mode, routing and forwarding cells individually. Two simulation programs are described, one for each mode of operation, which allow for the evaluation of a CLS with respect to the delaay experienced by cells.
