Abstract

More than 150 academics, policy advisers and practitioners from over 20 countries met in February 2019 in Hanover, to debate innovation policy for two days, and definitely controversial. 30 junior scientists from all over the world, from Ghana, India, the USA to Singapore were also represented. They then worked out a joint memorandum.
This “Herrenhausen Conference” was entitled “The New Role of the State for the Emergence and Diffusion of Innovation ". It went in the Event about nothing less than the role of the state in innovation-driven transformations, the instruments of innovation policy and its importance for change in the economy and Society and the problem of social participation.
