Abstract

We measure Brillouin-scattering in tellurite covered silicon nitride waveguide and perform cladding engineering to improve the measured gain up to 8.5 m−1W−1. We further optimize the geometry and show via simulations a gain that can reach 155 m−1W−1, a 400 times improvement compared to previous results in silicon nitride based waveguides.
