    Abstract

“With great power comes great responsibility.” Growing technological power demands an increase of responsibility while the nature and impact of emerging technologies threaten traditional notions of responsibility. Philosophy and ethics of technology are thus faced with the challenge of formulating an appropriate understanding of responsibility and our respective anthropological self-understanding in today’s technological world. The volume aims at illuminating crucial dimensions of responsibility in light of technological innovation and our self-understanding as responsible beings.
