Abstract

This chapter examines how, in their annual reports and other official reports, universities disclose information about efforts and successes around addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We look at the character of the SDG disclosure and the actual SDG themes covered in such reports. The results of a comparative study on two sets of universities from the Netherlands and Italy are presented to compare the similarities and differences between and within the two countries. Also the role of national regulatory frameworks and the role of internal and external drivers of SDG reporting is discussed.
