Abstract
The automotive sector is facing continuously changes affecting also directly the tire industry. Especially regulations regarding a reduction of the CO2 emission, related to fuel consumption and rolling resistance, force a continuously improvement of the tire performance. To be able to meet the future requirements of the automotive industry and keep the knowledge of employees always up-to-date the European DRIVES project was initiated offering required new re-qualification possibilities. One of these trainings being developed is the rubber technologist. This training includes, beside the basics of rubber technology, also innovative green technologies considering bio-based polymers, fillers and additives and recycling possibilities.
