Treatment of an Infrarenal Aneurysm with an Eccentric Calcified Lesion in the Infrarenal Neck Using the Nellix Endoprosthesis

Abstract

We report a case of a 66-year-old woman with a 52-mm abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) with a severely calcified eccentric lesion in the infrarenal neck. The patient was deemed unsuitable for conventional endovascular repair in view of a hostile proximal landing zone caused by the eccentric calcified lesion. With the use of a Nellix EndoVascular Aneurysm Sealing system (EVAS; Endologix, Irvine, California), the aneurysm sac was sealed with the grafts’ endobags, which adapted to the aortic neck configuration. Retrospective case reports such as the present report do not require review or local review board approval in The Netherlands.
