    Abstract

In this thesis we deal with triangulations and try to solve the problem of constructing a triangulation of a scattered data set in R3. This an important technique in surface reconstruction and widely used in many applications, such as computer graphics and vision, mesh generation, terrain modelling, tomography, reverse engineering, pattern recognition, computational geometry, surface reconstruction, cartography, geology, stereology, architecture, medical imaging and many other fields.
