Abstract
Although most secondary schools use computer-assisted information
systems12 in their organisational operations, their use tends to be
heavily concentrated in the area of clerical functions. Although this
type of assistance is very important and probably contributes
valuable improvements in efficiency, computer-assisted information
systems are not generally applied optimally to the support of
managerial work in schools
